I was excited about it and I thought it was going to be insightful, well researched, and present an interesting analysis. Unfortunately, the author comes off as someone who really doesn't understand much of what's going on beyond curated talking points (he has no technical background) and does little more than reference news articles and present platitudes to court Washington for some type of think-tank influencer role in his career. In short, this book appears to be more of an exercise in resume-building/credentialing for an MSNBC contributor rather than a thoughtful analysis of cybersecurity policy in the context of geopolitics. I can only conclude that Rabois gave this book the shameless plug he did because he's in a relationship with the author (something I didn't see him mention anywhere). The technology war with China is perhaps the most pressing and underrated issue of our time. We waste our political cycles in DC on partisan showmanship while the global infrastructure of information and control is stake.
